Swimming lessons

All of the kids have activities right now. Max is swimming. Once a week he gets a lesson. Which is always interesting. He probably the bravest of the three when it comes to trying to swim. He'll whimper, ,but he'll do it. He won't all out cry and wail like the other two did occasionally.

He can do better than he realizes sometimes as well. So I took a few pictures, so that I could show him how he was swimming on his own (albeit with a bubble on).

a day off with Dad...

The boys had yesterday off from school, so Rich decided to take them to learn to snowboard. They had a great day, despite knocking some lady over because Sam couldn't stop. She was very very nice about it!!

Note I had to work :(

Here are a couple of pics:

Holy Cow... it's been a long time...

Things are, as usual, hectic!

Starting next week, we are back to having something going on every day (and I know I am part of that). Rich and I go back to school for our final semester... woo hoo!! In May, Rich will have completed a gruelling MBA program and I will have my Masters degree. But on top of us going to school, Tim is playing indoor baseball and basketball, Sam is playing guitar and basketball, and Max is swimming. Plus I am still trying to play soccer.

So we are crazy, but it is also what keeps us sane. Rich was chuckling yesterday that the only way we got to talk to each other last night before 8:30 was shouting across a parking lot and chatting through our open windows as we drove past each other to different places. I say this keeps us sane because if we were not active doing activities (all of us, I think that we would get on each other's nerves ;) The only hard part is finding the time to let everyone do what they want.

Timmy's birthday was great, he loves that he has one in his wallet now... (Lilly, we kept meaning to call you and it got lost in the shuffle. But look in the mail soon!) This weather is awful, buut the pellet stove has been awesome for keeping the living room toasty.

The kids are still playing the Wii Fit and their new games (I'm trying to be good about using the Wii fit often as well.) And the basement repair is going. We are almost to a finishing point. Then we need to tackle other house projects!!

Ok, I should be working!

Happy Birthday, Timmy!

Today, my oldest is 8 years old. It is amazing how time flies and amazing at how big he has gotten. He is even starting to mature more and doesn't act like a little boy anymore. He is always helpful with children who are younger (except maybe his brothers), he does well in school, and works very hard at his sports. We are very proud of him.

Here are a few old and a more recent picture of him. (I'll have to look for a baby pic as when we had him, we didn't have a digital camera yet :) )

Some days....

Max just drives me crazy... in some good ways and some bad :)

Yesterday, I was in the bathroom, and at this point, he is old enough that I can tell him I need privacy. SO I am in there and the door starts to open, I say, Mommy's is in here and needs privacy please. He says through the door, I want to watch a movie. And I say, when I get out.

Well, he closes the door and leaves... for about a second. Then the door starts to open just enough that he can stick the VHS tape in. TO which I say, Max, I asked you to leave so Mommy can have privacy... to which he replies, but i'm not in there!

Then, as I write this, Max is finishing his lunch (hopefully). He has been sitting here for a while dilly-dallying. I said, "Max, you are making Mommy angry..." to which he replies, "Yeah, But sometimes, I make you happy."

He's three and coming up with these retorts!!!

Happy New Year!

I'm sure that I am not the first to say, where the heck did 2008 go? I remember having conversations with Rich about something we wouldn't "have to worry about until Tim goes to Kindergarten in 2006!" Here we are in 2009.

I'm not sure what I think about this past year except that we are fairly busy most of the time, but the boys love what they do and so do Rich and I!

We did ring in the new year as we usually do, playing board games and drinking a little with a couple of good friends. We let the boys stay up until 9 pm and drink sparkling white grape juice "champagne" out of plastic champagne glasses. Although Sammy does not like the bubbles (he doesn't like anything carbonated) so he drink plain white grape juice "wine" out of the glass. They were really cute with it.

Today, the boys and I went to Chuck E Cheese to use the gift cards they got. If you go there early enough, you pretty much have the place to yourself. They are always extremely well behaved and since it is empty, they get the lay of the land... otherwise, I'm not sure I could bring all three of them there myself!

Anyway, today is a new day and new year, so I am getting back on the Weight watcher bandwagon. I have put on some of the weight I lost a few years ago and really want to get it back off. I know how, but I have to make myself do the right things, instead of eat whatever I want whenever I want. AND I am back to exercising more!

So, Happy New Year everyone, I hope its a good one for you!
